Easter school holidays are behind us (boo!) – but that just means May Half Term is just around the corner (yay!) And we have plenty in store to look forward too…
As well as all of the usual all-weather fun, we’re focussing on our farm’s native and rare breeds over the course of the Half Term week which runs from Saturday 24 May to Sunday 1 June. Discover which of our farm breeds are native and which are considered an ‘at risk’ or ‘priority’ breed according to the Rare Breeds Survival Trust’s Watchlist. The RBST are just one of the many conservation charities we support each year – and we’re hopeful to raise vital funds for the charity over the course of the week, to help conserve rare breeds.
As well as the usual Folly Farm fun and games – with plenty of undercover attractions so we can bring the fun whatever the weather – there’ll be themed card hunts and prize trails to look out for, plus plenty of our very own rare breeds will be making an appearance throughout each day during our barn ‘meet and greet’ sessions. Get up close to a golden guernsey goat, talk about the Torwen sheep with our Jolly Farmers or check out our rare breed chickens… You’ll be sure to learn something new during your day with us!
Guests can also check out some of our tractors that will be on display!
And if you don’t manage to squeeze in all of the fun – just remember to see our admissions staff BEFORE exiting the park with your receipt to get a Free Return ticket to come back for more within seven days. A perfect Half Term treat for the whole family!
9.45am – 11.15am
What better start to the day than meeting our ‘Meep the Sheep’ who’ll be welcoming guests to the park at admissions each morning?
11.30am – 12pm
Head over to the Hen Hatchery in the barn and look out for Henrietta the hen who’ll be hanging out to say ‘hello’. You can even try our new egg game at the Hatchery when you’re there! The farm team have a touch table display where you can get a closer look at some interesting objects such as horse hair, sheep fleece and even animal teeth!
12 – 12.30pm
Our zoo team will be over at the meerkat enclosure holding *Meer-chat sessions where you can watch the meerkats getting fed and you can have the opportunity to chat to the keeper. *(Available 27 May – 1 June)
1.30 – 2.30pm
Join in with some fun in the barn and learn about some of our rare breeds. Games, activities, keeper talks and story time. Our entertainments team will be on hand to help!
2.30 – 4pm

All of the above PLUS the zoo will have some interesting artefacts to discover at their ‘Discovery Drop-In’ table. It’s a great way to catch up with our keepers too! The Discovery Drop-In will replace the ‘Meer-chat’ meerkat sessions on the Bank Holiday Weekend.
